While it may be an unconventional use of the standard, I've seen that Workspace One, Ping, and now Okta have implemented this type of flow and it's certainly a more modern approach than something like RADIUS for a second factor.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Hopefully it doesn't have to get too complex - maybe something in the relying party config to include a "send NameID in outgoing assertion" = true and then rely on existing NameID attribute mapping logic based on the NameID format.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Essentially reuse the flows you have for generating a NameID for relying parties but just add the ability to stick it in the authN request.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0"> </p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0"> </p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Anyway, the most important thing is - Thank you for taking a look at this it is very much appreciated!</p> </td>
