<td class="text-paragraph-pattern-container mobile-resize-text " style="padding: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0 0 10px 0"> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0; margin-top: 0">The intention is that instead of messing around with non-reloadable files that are lower level, you would configure the rules that associate the SPs with whatever's supposed to happen using relying-party.xml or in fact using metadata now, and stick to specifying custom Principals in the supportedPrincipals property.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The idea is to define a custom AuthnContextClassRef that identifies the directories and then you slap that Principal object into the relying-party override to signal that's what you want (in fact you can even have the SP specify it in the SAML Request if desired).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">You add the full set of those Principals to the Password flow's supportedPrincipals collection in general-authn.xml and then you define a map just like this one for JAAS but it maps JAAS config to supportedPrincipals and each one has that unique AuthnContextClassRef in its set. It's also possible with V4 to do it with multiple CredentialValidator beans, as each one has its own supportedPrincipals collection built-in.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The advantage is it pushes all the day to day changes into a reloadable service configuration, and has the more advanced ability to just trigger it using metadata tags and never touch the core config at all, so you don't even need overrides.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">It also addresses the use cases that are going to come up any time you bring MFA into the mix later.</p> </td>
