I don't think there's a lot of value to this over and above the change I've made to the commit jobs (which means that we don't do Javadoc generation at all there).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">We're building Javadoc nightly so that we have somewhere that can surface things which are now errors, as well as warnings. There are more of these now and given that we have at least one project where the site job never succeeds, if we don't do this we won't figure out we have unbuildable Javadoc until release, which I don't think is acceptable.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">If it were possible to suppress <em>just</em> Javadoc errors which were derived from network issues, I'd feel differently. That's not what the <tt>failOnError</tt> option does, though.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The <tt>javadoc.skip</tt> change doesn't fix our problems, but it probably reduces the frequency of failures. </p> </td>
