That will in turn mean that we are incidentally changing the version of Maven we require anyone doing builds to have on their development system, or inside Eclipse.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I thought we had a policy covering this at least to the "you need Maven X.Y.Z or later to build the V4 stack" level, but I can't find it now. We may need to put something in place. I think one aspect of that would probably want to be that we need to pin the version of Maven used for our Jenkins builds of old branches to avoid accidentally having them stop working. After all, we pin the <em>plugins</em> for old branches (by not just randomly updating the parent POM) and to some extent I'm surprised that we haven't hit more incompatibilities as a result of Maven shifting underneath.</p> </td>
