There's nothing in idp-war that depends on or requires logback, for example, so that's simply not right from a Maven perspective.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Whatever gets done can't be based on idp-war, basically, and I think if the point of the overlay is to add things that a deployer needs that the code itself doesn't, then it would make more sense to include some kind of additional overlay to layer on that would include the "standard but not explicitly required" components.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I think it would be a bonus if there was a way to base both installation approaches on a common foundation, but that's the part that isn't really clear.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Also, this doesn't really take upgrades into account. The configuration files still have to be maintained, and it's "allowed" for there to be additional non-system files added and required in a new version. That's fundamentally what the installer is about, the war is in some ways secondary to what the installer does today.</p> </td>
