<td class="text-paragraph-pattern-container mobile-resize-text " style="padding: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0 0 10px 0"> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0; margin-top: 0">The error and event handling was very difficult to work out, but all the existing password supporting is rewritten with the new design and all the tests are passing, with a couple of deliberate changes to the events used to be more accurate.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The split in responsibility is for the validators to report errors and events using callbacks but not explicitly deal with webflow behavior. Exceptions are always raised on errors but "inapplicable" use of a validator returns nulls. The validators also do most of the logging.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">A new action class replaces the pre-existing JAAS/LDAP/Kerberos actions and is modeled on the JAAS validation logic, supporting a chain of validators in both "any" or "all" modes.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Lockout support is in that action and not in the validators, which is a fix to the current design, which I think was too aggressive incrementing lockout when multiple LDAP/etc. servers were used with JAAS.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The action also handles the metrics and does the mapping of messages to events by implementing the callback interface used by the validators to report their errors and warnings.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">More test code should be written but the next step will be to try to rewire the current configuration with the new design and see how close it is to compatibility.</p> </td>
