By the time we come along as ask there is another connection in place and it isn't readonly.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Further according to the rules of pooling someone else will have resused the pool and that of course is what <a href="https://issues.shibboleth.net/jira/browse/IDP-1040" title="RDBMSDataConnector defaults to readOnly connections" class="issue-link" data-issue-key="IDP-1040" style="color: #3b73af; text-decoration: none"><del>IDP-1040</del></a> is all about.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">So, setting readonly is only meaningful in the way it is currently done (on the connection immediately before we ask it for the attributes).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">We end up with the options</p>
<ul>
<li>Suppressing the setting of readonlyness value for injected connectors, which sucks for well constructed setups which would like to share connections.</li>
<li>Removing the value entirely which sucks for performance reasons</li>
<li>Swapping the default which could accidentally hit people with existing good set up.</li>
