There must be some object cleanup happening that's running outside of those try/catch blocks.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">And then secondly and perhaps related, something is holding open the connection in the failed state, causing the pools to exhaust with open connections that can't be used.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Certainly, the docs need to be clear: do <b>not</b> share a DataSource like this, there's no reason to risk that kind of thing.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">And I guess we need to make it clearer that case matters, but I honestly have never heard of creating a database without that. Never occurred to me, but I guess it should be simple enough to add a note on that.</p> </td>
