<ul>
<li>The use of an idp.home path with spaces in it breaks Jetty on Windows if it forks, because Jetty rewrites the system variable to add backslashes and invalidates the path outright, preventing anything from working.</li>
<li>The use of an idp.home with backslashes is now a known issue even without spaces because Spring will pre-proc the conditional: URIs and treat them as relative paths before letting the ProtocolResolver plugin thing get hold of it. I think other weird things we do with classpath URIs may also be somewhat fragile, but perhaps not.</li>
<li>Using forward slashes with no spaces works consistently forked or otherwise on all platforms.</li>
<li>Using forward slashes with spaces works on Windows if no forking happens.</li>
</ul> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Sum total being: don't use backslashes ever, and if you install to Program Files on Windows, don't fork.</p> </td>
