Now knowing this the interpretation of 5.5.1.1 wording to "isPassive" like behaviour would just not make any sense (atleast so I tell me).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Also, by the specification I think your first comment of ignoring requested non-essential acr would also be correct. The current authentication selection flow process could be used as such and the non-essential acr request could be just ignored. The reason I did not go that way myself is that it would leave the acr_values request parameter totally useless. That is the reason I made the modification to selection process to first try selecting authentication by the requested acr but if that failed (and the acr was non-essential), then repeat process as if the acr was not requested at all.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">If this still does not make any sense we have to have a chat or I have to ask guidance from people who know OIDC better than me.
