None of the plumbing is insurmountable, but as described below it gets pretty gnarly so I may leave this as a prototype and not turned on in 3.4</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The first thing to note is that bunging the <tt>AttributeConsumingService</tt> into the <tt>AttributeConsumingServiceContext</tt> happens in OpenSAML and we cannot do this stuff down there so we need to add a new Action to <tt>saml-abstract-flow</tt>. A couple of strategies get us the <tt>AttributeConsumingServiceContext</tt> from the PRC and equally the <tt>RequestedAttribute</tt> list from the PRC (get the Inbound message check that its an <tt>AuthnRequest</tt> and if it is grab the <tt>Extensions</tt> and from that the <tt>RequestedAttributes</tt>.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">This can all happen in the pre-execute. In execute we need to build the new <tt>AttributeConsumingService</tt> and populate it (easy) and then add in the Requested Attributes. Adding in the SAML ones is also easy, but we then want to do the reverse mapping (into <tt>IdPRequestedAttributes</tt>)</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The best way to do that would be via the <tt>AttributeMappingNodeProcessor</tt> - it keeps code common. And that needs an <tt>AttributeResolverService</tt>.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">We can just bung the bean name (<tt>shibboleth.AttributeResolverService</tt>) in to the bean definition of <tt>AddReqAttrToAttributeConsumingService</tt> in <tt>saml-abstract-benas.xml</tt>. But this does leave me slightly concerned that we are now defining attribute mapping via two routes (one in the beanPostProcessors for the Metadata Resolver service and one here). I <em>guess</em> that this is OK, after all we have references to the Attribute Resolver service scattered across our configuration.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Further, there is no alternative to this since the commonality (the Mapping Node Processor) is hard wired inside the bean post processor (so we cannot grow a single Meapping Node Processor and inject it into the two places which would make me feel a lot better.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">So my plan is to finish the code, test it, but only check in everything except the change to <tt>saml-asbtarct-flow.xml</tt>. then we can see how we feel about it,</p> </td>
