This would be (ideally) used in cases where Global R&S is insufficient, either due to the attributes being requested or the operating practices of the entity behind the SP. The signalling we are interested in is wholly directed at the IdP; we expect SPs would be completely oblivious to these signals.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The two main types of signalling that have been discussed include:</p>

<li>Requested-attribute-like Affiliations.
<ul>
<li>E.g., an AffiliationDescriptor indicating "requires/approved to receive employee ID".</li>

<li>Common context-specific use signalling for attributes
<ul>
<li>E.g., different AffiliationDescriptors indicating "requires/approved to receive contact email" vs. "email address required as the unique user ID", which in addition to establishing data release rules would also impact how the IdP would release. </li>
