Currently the cache dumps any time any entity is resolved. The improved version will support invalidation of only cached data for a given entityID, but the problem is that there's a total edge case where you have two metadata sources for an entity that return non-overlapping roles/protocols.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">A query for SAML 1 SSO might resolve one source with tags A and B, and cache them and then a second query for SAML 2 SSO might resolve from the second source with tags C and D, but the code would reuse A and B from the cache.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Nobody's going to do this, but it's possible, so the conservative move is to turn off caching by default, but have more efficient caching if you turn it on knowing you don't do something incredibly weird for your metadata sourcing.</p> </td>
