<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The deltas in the defaults between <tt>HTTPMetadataProviderParser</tt> and <tt>AbstractDynamicHTTPMetadataProviderParser</tt> are deliberate. For the dynamic case we want the defaults for the 3 timeout values for an internally constructed client to be much shorter than for the batch client. Batch gets 60s (via the default of <tt>HttpClientBuilder</tt>, dynamic gets an explicit 5s.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The other 2 defaults for max routes in the dynamic one are also deliberate: The batch only ever accesses one URL with one domain name, so we don't need any special handling for the max routes. The dynamic one potentially may handle many domain names/routes (e.g. entityID as metadata URL, or other dynamic cases), so it needs to default to much higher.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I took the conservative approach before of "change as little as possible" and "don't repeat yourself", so I didn't touch or add explicit defaults for the batch case. It's just getting the <tt>HttpClientBuilder</tt> defaults. It's nominally fine with me if we want to make the code more "symmetrical" and add explicit default to the batch, esp if that will facilitate factoring out common code. But the default values will be different in the 2 cases.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">For the batch one I would be concerned about repeating the existing defaults from <tt>HttpClientBuilder</tt>, so that's the only wrinkle. Maybe we should factor the builder defaults out to public static constants for reuse elsewhere. But note that the timeout ones are going to be in milliseconds by necessity, and the parsers usually take XML duration (as you see in the dynamic constants). Can the parsers also take numeric inputs? I thought they could, but I lose track of all of that...</p>
