I have not got a full stack VC14 build SP running (including installers)
</li>
<li>
There is an issue because of a missing DLL in the Debug Merge module
</li>
<li>
But the CRT guys seem to want to move away from merge modules and instead have some sort of "<a href="https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/vcblog/2015/03/03/introducing-the-universal-crt/" class="external-link" rel="nofollow" style="color: #3b73af; text-decoration: none">Universal CRT</a>" (and of course they'll never accidently break the world by changing the ABI)
</li>
<li>
This build does not work against W2K3 (because of the "platform toolset") but W2K3 is off even <a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/lifecycle/search?alpha=Microsoft%20Windows%20Server%202003" class="external-link" rel="nofollow" style="color: #3b73af; text-decoration: none">extended maintenance</a>

Meanwhile VS2017 is in RC and Wix 3.11 is queued up behind it.

<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">We still have to decide on what the next release is called, but we now need to consider whether we want to support 2K3 in it and whether perhaps we want to build with VC17</p>
