<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Oh, I see what you're referring to. The reason for that is due to the way the SP works fundamentally. It has to use handlers that are co-located with the resources, because that's where the assertion has to be delivered. Normally that relates to the ACS computation, it computes the ACS handler URL based on the resource. I think because it's routing through the same code here, it's computing the handler URL of the SessionInitiator to come back to to align to the resource, in this case google.com.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I...don't think that's a bug. It may be a weird side effect that prevents certain things the SP isn't designed to do anyway, but I would have to review the code to see exactly when the URL is computed and whether it's intentional that it's doing that in this particular case.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I suspect it's not exactly intentional, but I'm not sure it matters practically speaking because in the end, it's going to break anyway. If it were to return control to the original handler location, the target would still be google.com, and so when it computed the ACS to use, that's going to be google.com. That part is very much intentional, and was done to prevent some of the sources of looping that people would constantly end up seeing, with the handler and resource mismatched.</p>
