I was able to confirm that with the profile enabled for both, the signed request with no metadata fails, but with the profile enabled only for Anonymous use, the signed request is handled (in that the signature isn't checked).<br /><br />That's a bit odd, but it's an anomaly. There's no way to verify the signature in either case, so one could argue it should be working in both cases. I'd probably consider that a bug, but I don't know if it's fixable. Since there's no reason to enable Anonymous support without turning off everything else, it's not really a major concern, but I'll retitle the bug and if Brent wants to take a look some time he can.<br /><br />I</span> <span class="diffaddedchars" style="background-color:#ddfade;"> would speculate that the reason is that it actually selects the candidate RP stanza before it actually processes the signature. If the profile is enabled for a RP definition that "fits" (like the default one), it will use that configuration block and it ends up trying to check the signature and failing. If the profile is *not* enabled for the default RP, it ends up choosing the Anonymous RP block, and that probably skips the signature check. It</span> <span class="diffcontext">'</span> <span class="diffaddedchars" style="background-color:#ddfade;">s a bit odd, but it essentially rejects requests that might otherwise be acceptable.
