<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The advisory's actual recommendation is to upgrade affected software, and I think we'd need some persuading to build in a permanent workround for that.</p>

If<br /> examination of the relevant source metadata shows no KeyAuthority<br /> elements present, then that particular MetadataPKIX- engine instance<br /> is not susceptible to this issue.</p>

<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I took a look at the metadata at <a href="https://caf-shibops.ca/CoreServices/cafshib_metadata_signed.xml" class="external-link" rel="nofollow" style="color: #3b73af; text-decoration: none">https://caf-shibops.ca/CoreServices/cafshib_metadata_signed.xml</a> and it did not appear to contain <tt>KeyAuthority</tt> extensions. I think that this means that your federation (along with many others) is not affected by the problem.</p>
<p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Can you clarify whether this is the case? Obviously if we have misunderstood the number of people affected by the issue, that might affect our view of the priority or desirability of any mitigation.</p>
