<p>The unit tests certainly won't spot this because they construct their environment (I have a feeling that they do test this, but they test it by building the wrong structure).  The fix is obviously easy, more problematic is testing and avoiding regressions in future.</p>

<p>I'd be inclined to throw in a test against a non null PRC here (and in the places I outline below).  Then things will die (or maybe log.error) really quick.</p>

<p>I'm also wondering whether the Predicate filters have the same issue (since they also take an injected Function).  ISTR that they at least can have the Function injected.  The scripted filter obviously does.  I'm hoping that the activation conditions don't have this issue too (although I'm pretty sure we would have noticed them).</p>

<p>I need to do a full review of the Attribute Filter and Resolver code for any place where we find the PRC.  Since a much of it predates us finalizing the context tree structure</p></div>
