<li>pulling any state related to the account needed to check for things like expiring passwords or the like</li>

<p>The ldaptive code has some fancy capabilities for the latter, I believe.</p>
<p>It's not really realistic to avoid touching the resolver, that's not a goal. We're just trying to avoid duplication of settings where it's possible.</p>
