The crash itself I <b>think</b> is being triggered by the fact that the session cache has the cacheAssertions setting turned on. I don't know if you need that to be on or not (it might be needed in the middle tier, but likely not at the second SP).</p>
<p>But the reason that seems to be bugging out has to do with something screwed up in the XML the IdP is sending, the Delegate extension element in your trace looks like this:</p>
<p><del:Delegate xmlns:del:Delegate="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:conditions:delegation" ...</p>
<p>That namespace declaration ain't right. I suspect that's crashing it somehow, but I'm not even sure how that's parsing successfully in the first place. Something really weird is going on there. That might be a parser bug letting that through.</p>
<p>I'm still not sure how any of this is triggered by encryption yet either. Lot of things to check out.</p>
<p>I'd be interested to see what the XML looks like if you don't have encryption on. I have to assume it won't include that weird namespace declaration...</p></div>
