<p>Obviously it worked for me since I have a connection intact. What's interesting to me is that the ClasspathResolver on TRACE is not showing me any attempts to access either of the 2 missing schemas we know are in the document. That suggests to me that the lax validation mode actually causes the parser to skip any attempt to load a grammar that's not already inside the Schema object we validate against. It's just very foreign to me coming from the C++ world where I can't validate a DOM, so I think it's quite different with this Java approach of validating the existing DOM against a specific Schema object.</p>
<p>What struck me oddly about that log is that the line where the exception supposedly gets logged is line 44. That's not a source line in the SchemaBuilder class, it's an import statement. That seems really weird. There's no log line that should be logging that exception. It should just be thrown by the newSchema call on line 284, and then logged later, which it is, in the other classes.</p>
<p>Combining that with the weird InflaterInputStream references, and I'm left wondering if some kind of classloader corruption issue could be involved here, and the schema part just a red herring.</p></div>
