<p>As to default parameterisation, the V2 documentation claims that the functionality was "validates incoming metadata against the SAML metadata schema" which sounds rather thin, but in practice the implementation was based on SAMLSchemaBuilder.getSAML11Schema which "gets a schema that can validate SAML 1.1, 2.0, and all registered extensions" which is much more useful as it includes things like MDATTR, MDUI and MDRPI. That's what I think we should do in V3, and I'd like to see it documented more closely reflecting that reality as well.</p></div>
