You can take away the builder only if there's another way to achieve that effect.</p>
<p>Per my comment above, the builder gets used in MDA configurations to do things like set timeouts and the ignore-SSL-certificate option for metadata fetches. The timeout use cases will possibly go away now that we don't set 5 second timeouts by default, but ignoring the SSL certificate is still an important thing to be able to do, and right now there seems to be no other way of achieving that other than to set it as an option on the builder (correct me if I'm wrong here).</p></div>
