<p>In many cases we have punted to the user to build their beans. However we are still using the java-support HttpClientBuilder inside a factory bean (HttpClientFactoryBean) for the parsing in idp-profile-spring. We do NOT use the constructor which wraps the apache builder so as per Brent above "things should work as they always have"</p>
<p>Nonethless, since this is a factory being used inside a factory I think we could collapse that out with little pain. </p>
<p>I don't see any non-test use of the builder inside spring files.</p>
<p>The upshot is that I believe that we could trivially move the factories to the test tree, or possibly even remove them. On the other hand, it then becomes incumbent on us to have really good examples of how to summon up these beans without using our builder, precisely because we have allow direct injection of these beans in so many places.</p>
<p>Perhaps just mark the constructor with an argument as deprecated and be done?</p></div>
