This scenario was consistently reproducible. We type in the URL to our application, our application then forwards to our IdP but IE gives an SSL Cert warning before forwarding us to the IdP. I then tell IE to proceed and we get the error noted above. If I refresh, I get the error again, but if I type the url of our application again, then it actually sends the POST properly and we can get to the login page without getting interrupted by IE's security warning. So for whatever reason, when IE intercepts the POST request to the untrusted site, when you tell it to proceed it must somehow then send it as a GET. I am guessing that this is what was happening to our QA (Testers) when they logged the issue. Thank you for the information and I definitely think that it will help when your next version reports the error directly to the user. But we also may take your suggestion of using a GET instead of a POST in general. But I believe that we are just relying on OpenSAMLSP libraries to send these requests for us, which is also owned/maintained by Shibboleth. So do one of need to make a change request to that team so that they will stop sending POST requests?</p></div>
