<p style='margin-top:0;margin-bottom:10px;'>My version of Eclipse recently (perhaps not coincidentally, after installing the Spring tools) started doing much heavier validation of XML files in my workspaces, and picked up a lot of things I don't think we knew about before but may have been just ignoring as long as things appeared to work. This is an unsafe position to be in, so we should probably do a review pass over these errors and warnings before attempting a release.</p>
<p style='margin-top:0;margin-bottom:10px;'>Some of the things I've noticed have been:</p>

<li>actual schema validation errors in Spring beans files, e.g., using <constructor-arg> inside <property> (passed this one to Rod)</li>

<li>classpath: URLs in schemaLocation attributes</li>
</ul>

<li>references to a schema file for the wrong namespace in schemaLocation attributes (see idp-war's web.xml)</li>

<li>schema violations in test resources. some of these are because we're testing for correct behaviour when the schema is violated, some are OK in the long run because we are weakening the schemas to compensate, but many appear to be just finger trouble, e.g.:</li>
