<p>Also, STS will add the Spring nature to projects which depend on Spring artifacts directly or transitively, and we can add the Spring nature and builder to Eclipse .project files without issue if STS is not installed.</p>

<p>Because 'mvn dependency:analyze' will report these STS-required dependencies as declared but unused, I suggest we limit them to idp-conf if possible, since that artifact should not contain any Java code. If limiting to idp-conf is not possible, then we should add a "&lt;!-- Spring Tool Suite Dependencies --&gt;" to the POMs when adding STS-required dependencies so that later on we do not remove them because we forget why they were added.</p></div>
