        <div class="comment-block" style="background-color:#edf5ff;border:1px solid #dddddd;color:#000000;padding:12px;"><p>I've made a first attempt at this in rev 152 of the V3 parent project.  This makes both <tt>site</tt> and <tt>checkstyle:checkstyle</tt> generate the appropriate files, but you don't get an indication of how many warnings there are any more (probably because warnings aren't regarded as violations at the default level).  It also includes allows checkstyle results to be published in Jenkins builds, and we even get a trend graph.</p>

<p>At the moment, the Maven site report isn't showing for most projects (broken link of some kind) so I'm going to detour and look into that then come back rather than doing the V2 parent now.</p>

<p>The parent project needs to be able to refer to a checkstyle configuration file but because it isn't included each project as an external and the parent POM has no inherent knowledge of its own version tag I've just pointed it at the version in the V3 parent project trunk.  That may or may not be what we want to do long term.  Probably worth reviewing once we have some more experience.</p></div>
