The way that the definitions and connectors work is that they ate created, then there parameters are set and then they are initialized. After initialization none of the setters work so an attribute definition cannot "change in the midst of resolution".</p>
<p>Now, I would normally just remove the comment and mark this as closed-mistaken. But the comment was introduced in the same checkin which introduced Initializable components. It could well be that the comment was added before the Initializable components were added (its is a huge checkin of 180 files). But I am not confident enough to just close this.</p>
