It looks as though our best bet is to
* Stop borrowing --home to the distribution directory.
* Overload getIdpHome() in our args so that if the user has specified a target directory on the command line that can be used (as well as --home , but that would be sucky).
* Then they can specify an http bean in the usual way.
So the install script is running out of the distribution, but spring can borrow the configuration - possibly. Remember that the classpath (and all the resources thereby resolved) will be in the NEW os, but the configuration files will be on the old version. So it might be slightly dodgy if some things have gone away in a non compatible manner.
