The dev/JCOMOIDC-66 branch is now up to date with the latest changes. This is about as good as I can make while retaining compatibility with the OP. It needs review, there is certainly more than one way to approach it. Relevant packages are:

oidc-common-profile-api

* net.shibboleth.oidc.profile.oauth2.config

oidc-common-profile-impl

* net.shibboleth.oidc.profile.config.impl
* net.shibboleth.oidc.profile.oauth2.config.impl
