After all of that, it turned out to be unnecessary to rename any RPMs of consequence, and while I succeeded in reducing the number of differences between the manifests and the products from 84 to 12, I have found no way to eliminate the rest. On the platforms that generate debuginfo, rpmspec q assumes that there will be one such file for the primary package, and no such file for any sub-package, while in fact rpmbuild generates a debuginfo RPM for any (sub)package containing debuggable files. Consequently, the manifests for the three components that ship *-bin sub-packages ( opensaml , xerces-c , and xml-security-c ) do not record the corresponding debuginfo RPMs on the four applicable platforms ( amazonlinux2023 , centos8 , rockylinux8 , and rockylinux9 ).
