Revisiting this, the conclusion was that we want to migrate as much of the code using Spring’s Resource interface to avoid a trim that shouldn’t happen and ensure we log it.

The opensaml-spring module is now hosting all the old net.shibboleth.idp.profile.spring.factory.* classes, those have been changed over and the tests pass once the converter to our Resource type is available.
