Because I am getting swamped with thoughts

To do List
----------

* Create an idp-version.properties file (alongside the plugin.properties one)
* Arrange to make this turn up in the interweb the same way that plugin.properties does
* In install create the properties file in dist which points to these URLs
* Change the update program to interoogate that that.
* Move the support function up stream (into idp-admin-api, idp-admin-impl of shib-shared-profile
* Devise a bean in the Idp which

* Is configured by spring (HttpClient bean, HttpSecurityParameters, file location)
* Runs after the log has been configured (depends-in logging service?)
* Runs asyncrhonously (so we don’t get in the way of startup while we are going offsite checks)
* Checks for an update version

* Issues an Info if there is a new one

* Checks if the current version is out of date or under a security warning

* Issues an info if it is out of date and warn if it is under a security warning

I think that that is it, but I will keep this comment updated as I discover more work or get work done.
