Alongisde that which was discussed in the dev meeting on Friday, Henri Mikkonen ( https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?accountId=557058%3A1614c4a5-c89e-4edc-9421-990bd6ea85fd ) and I had a quick chat. The current plan is to move OIDCSecurityConfiguration to JSONSecurityConfiguration. To fully qualify the old xmlsec interfaces in the new JSONSecurityConfiguration, and to remove the JWT prefix from the JWT interfaces and their implementation types.
We did also think it is probably a good idea, now the JWT prefix has been removed from the config interfaces, to move the implementations from the fairly generic oidc.security.impl to a oidc.security.json.impl package (making it clearer this relates to JSON based security, and more similar to the *xmlsec* package in opensaml).
For now, we think a name containing JOSE might be reserved for things that operate off the JOSE headers, and not generic things. But that might be wrong or subject to change after we see the first set of changes.
