I have a patch worked up and there is a notable API change to the CAS TicketService component as well as the ProxyGrantingTicket class, which has storage impacts. In summary, existing serialized proxy-granting tickets will be incompatible with the new code because a mandatory field will be missing. I think that should be acceptable for most deployments where PGTs have a lifetime of less than a day, so any serialization errors would be transient for that period of time at worst. I tend to take the viewpoint that the impact of purging tickets is a non-issue, so in the worst case deployers could purge PGTs as part of an upgrade if they wanted to avoid runtime deserialization errors. I’m going to pause and wait a couple days to allow time for expressing concerns; otherwise I’ll commit and push the fix on Friday morning.
