There’s a lot of mess around these classes across different modules because some of them use constructors, most use factory methods, and there were bugs around the exception signatures that prevented direct use of initialize() in some cases. There’s a deprecated method used to invoke initialize such that it gets wrapped in a ScriptingException. I don’t know yet what the final changes are here.
