From an unprotected pages – where links to a Shibboleth SP protected page, is there a possibilioty to append a parameter to the 'SAMLRequest' sent to the IDP?

The reason is the IDP in question is Keycloak – which has a number of IDPs which the user can select from – having a parameter appended to the 'SAMLRequest' can allow us to pre-select the IDP for the user.
