That isn’t quite what I was doing, but perhaps that’s on me (or maybe we just need more documentation).

What I was trying to do was build all components for a single platform. As I didn’t see a make target for that, I tried truncating the PLATFORMS variable in the Makefile , then running just make to build “everything”. That’s when I got the failure.

So I’m still unclear as to why I was seeing the error I did: I wasn’t trying to do anything with CentOS 7, I had removed it from PLATFORMS and it doesn’t seem to be required for the Rocky platform anyway.
