After literally months of procrastination this is at the top of my list. My plan is to try to implement StorageService & StorageCapabilitiesEx on top of raw JDBC, ripping off as much from the SP code as seems feasible. If I get that working we can look at ways of slip streaming this in via a plugin.

This is going to be a bit of a learning cliff. Here goes.
