I’d probably favor shibboleth-spring-ext or shib-spring-ext, which has the advantage of being shorter and matching the existing package name. Changing that will just have gratuitous breakage to people’s confgurations in some cases.

Honestly, I could also make a case we just drop it and move it into the IdP and/or move it into a new substrate package that will eventually be needed to support the Java SP code anyway. But if the MDA is using it, then separate may be best.
