All indications are that this a consequence of some bad choices in Java’s collection classes, causing certain nested classes that implement the Iterator interface to be unable to reflectively expose the methods on the interface in light of the JPMS-driven changes to access. It’s still not clear what other problems might manifest. It’s probably fixable in this case by using wrapper classes but because this would require changing the configuration I think it’s best to just fix the flow internals to avoid the bug.
