You’d have to try it to see if it works. I figure it will, as long as the build plugins you have configured in the “parent” end up failing because the child project isn’t in the expected form. But, for example, that kind of thing does work generally as we can see from the fact that (say) the IdP parent doesn’t blow up just because it’s descended from the main parent project (it doesn’t have any java files, but the java compiler plugin is unfazed).
