I have a branch of the MDA repository (corresponding to https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/browse/JPAR-186 ( https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/browse/JPAR-186 ) ) which was building under the Java 17 stack and has now of course broken. I have tweaked it back into shape by trimming out some of the methods that are now implemented further up the stack, and by tweaking one of the tests.

I’ve put a Jenkins job in place to monitor this, as it wouldn’t be shocking for further V5 developments to disrupt things in other ways.

Meanwhile, my branch is a little inconsistent because at some stage the aggregate method names changed, e.g., from throwSetterPreconditionExceptions to checkSetterPreconditions. I’ve stubbed those through for now.

I now plan to execute those two name changes in my main line code, and will then come back and remove the stubs on the branch. Might as well take the hit now. That should mean that my BaseIdentifiableInitializableComponent class ends up empty on the branch, at least for now_._
