The initial work item here is probably to remove the common include file and to populate everything by way of macros which get defined in the cpp-msbuild: Versions.props file.

Then we should probably remove all the cruft for MFC.

What I am not remembering is what the exact issue with the DLL versions was - I think that the versions changed (so the files were upgraded) but what was displayed didn’t.

I suspect that there will also be an issue in that one thing want

a=1,2,3,6

and the other wants

b="v1.2.3.4"
