As discussed on Slack, the root cause for this problem is that nowadays Jetty’s HttpServletRequest.getLocalAddr() returns IPv6 address with brackets. From our perspective, the building of a URL based on local IP address is not meaningful, but Nimbus does it for its own purposes.

All this should be taken as an extra motivation for https://shibboleth.atlassian.net/browse/JOIDC-46 in order to have full control.
