The project has now morphed into a maven enforcer (running in the distribution project at phase validate ) to do the two bits of work

* check that our pom is what we want (in terms of what versions of what jars)
* check that all jars are signed.

I am hopeful that I can parameterize this up to make it work for plugins as well.

I will signed the unsigned jars and rather than put the asc file into nexus, I’ll pop it in to the jar itself and add my cert to the appropriate keyrings.

This makes this pass by “leap of faith”, breaks whenever we load another one, but doesn’t force us to pop asc files into a public place.
