If we run the dependency check over the maint4-1 branch as is it will complain because the idp-parent pom overrides some versions also defined in the (master( parent pom.

The fact that the pom is like this - and for a good reason - is a good hint that this should not always be fatal to the build. By default it must be fatal but it would be good to have some "allowable failures".
