I dug in to this (the validateOnCheckout vs validateOnCheckOut thing. I’m pretty much convinced that we are doing the right thing:

* The impedance mismatch comes at the Shibboleth/LDAPtive interface. Shibboleth is validateOnCheckout , LDAPtive is validateOnCheckOut
* The AuthN code (which works via net.shibboleth.idp.authn.config.LDAPAuthenticationFactoryBean ) has been validateOnCheckout since V4.0
* validateOnCheckOut was added to the attribute resolver schema in this case. (for 4.2)

If anybody ever wants to be looking at the LDAPTive code, then they know enough to worry about the mismatch.

So I’ll close this case with a view to closing it
